Am I entitled to the individual income supplement?

Have you had a low income for a long time and do you expect no improvement? Then you may be able to receive an additional supplement from your municipality. This is called individual income supplement. This is an annual supplement to supplement your income. You apply for the individual income supplement from your municipality. Your municipality also provides information about the conditions that apply.

Individual income supplement: for whom?
To be eligible for an individual income supplement, you must meet the following conditions:

• you are older than 21 years but younger than the AOW age;
• you have little or no income and assets;
• you have no or very little chance of a job or higher income.
• Are you entitled to AOW? Then a higher social assistance standard applies to you and you are not eligible for the individual income supplement.

Pay attention!

• The municipality can impose other conditions, for example that you have tried to increase your income. Ask your municipality about this.
• The amount of the allowance differs per municipality and depends on your situation. The municipality pays the amount in one go.
